* The print book will be available as soon as that color fix goes through. Should be just a few more days. So close! Here's the e-book version on Amazon.

* When you buy the print version, you get a link inside the book to get the e-book version for free.

* I didn't have high expectations with Amazon Createspace's print quality. Figured it'd be OK at best, like the POD books from back in the day. Nope. Really a nice job. You can't see here, but the cover image is super crisp.

* Takeaway lesson for all you authors out there: Make sure you lighten up any dark fonts. 'Cause they'll print darker than you see on the screen. Also, if you're not uploading images at 300 pixels/inch, you're wasting your time.

* I have nothing against Wisconsin-based PODs. I just threw out a state.

Really pleased for you - that was a fun moment! Like the size of the book but yes, cover looks a bit dark- easily solved!

Thank you! Yeah, the cover wound up being much darker than I anticipated. But that's why it's good to get a proof first. Still, very excited to hold the print version in my hands after years of feet-dragging by that pair of "publishers."

Fun video! You have a Minnesota accent. ;)

I like how you go through the book to point out how you designed it. CreateSpace really does do a good job, compared to some of the other POD places I've seen. I wonder if they have any guidelines for calibrating your monitor so that your colors match up with the way they end up printed? That'd be useful.

@Laura You betcha, I have a nice Minnesooootan accent. Not surprisingly, leaving the state for a few years didn't change that (it was Wisconsin, after all). It's not so far removed from Montreal by way of Austin, is it?

I know it's possible to set a monitor to a printer. The designers at my work do it. I'll hit up CreateSpace so they can tell me they don't know what I'm talking about.

Congrats, Ben. That's pretty exciting. I wonder when hard cover limited edition autographed copies will be available?
